Superstone!

Reticulated Hematite and Clinochlore with Pumpellyite on Adularia, Epidote and larger Clinochlore; actual size is ca. 1.5 cm. A small rock fragment covered with Calcite, this is what we found after dissolving most of the Calcite away. The reticulated Clinochlore appears to have grown along cleavage planes in the Calcite; the Hematite grew along the lines of intersection of the cleavage planes.

Found in the tailings pile of the Caledonia copper mine near Greenland, Michigan, during the Copper Country Mineral Retreat, August 2007.
