An 11-shot blend using an equisolid projection, the night sky over Puerto Gato on the east coast of Isla San Jose, Baja California Sur.
The brightest "star" is Jupiter, the bright bands are the Milky Way and the Zodiacal light (caused by sunlight scattered by dust in the plane of the solar system). The faint brightening to the left is the Gegenschein, from the point in the sky opposite the Sun. The greenish glow around the horizon is airglow, luminescence from high in Earth's atmosphere.
